About Your Trainer:

Aishah Hammock, CPDT-KA
Founder & CEO

With the number of owner surrenders climbing steadily each day, Aishah realized that the key to being an effective matchmaker between canine and human, and a forever home remaining a forever home, is education. She sees the sheer volume of information and conflicting methodologies within the dog training field, and knows it can be difficult for owners to know what to trust or how to apply it effectively. Becoming a certified professional dog trainer to help dogs maintain their housing, was a natural and inevitable progression.

Having worked in the animal rescue industry since 2019, Aishah has evaluated, overseen, and adopted out over 500 dogs, many of whom she personally trained and rehabilitated to ensure safe and successful placements. That experience has taught her how to read dogs, understand their needs, and meet them where they are. She knows dogs — their challenges, potential, and the patience and structure they need to thrive. She's a caregiver whose respect for the dogs she saves carries directly into her training methods. And when it comes to helping dogs succeed, who better to guide them than someone who brings them to safety and understands their story?

Aishah adheres to the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) framework — the ethical standard recognized by leading professional training organizations. Behavioral science is her North Star and balance is her foundation. Every dog is different and there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. She considers all humane methods, as well as your dog's life experiences, sensitivities and triggers, along with your lifestyle and limitations to curate a training program that is feasible and effective, even in high-distraction environments.

Beyond training and rescue, Aishah supports domestic violence survivors (males included), recovering addicts and deploying service members who need safe temporary placement for their pets, as no one should have to choose between personal safety, healing, duty, and the well-being of their animals. If you would like to be a safe space for dogs in such situations, please reach out.

Outside of work, Aishah enjoys road trips in her Wrangler with her dogs Castle, Bailey, and Axl. One of her most cherished memories is dogsledding beneath the Aurora Borealis. Pieces of her remain with Dublin and Haus, whom she hopes to see again someday.
